"A poet's work is to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world, and stop it going to sleep." -Salman Rushdie

Get Lit Players
Yesterday we took a sort of "field trip" to Vromans (a privately owned book store) to watch the Get Lit Players perform. The Get Lit Players are a group of poets between the ages of 13 and 19 who perform their poetry in competitions representing LA, and inspire people through their poetry to be more creative, whether it be poetry, singing, painting, ect. This trip was a good experience for exposure to different types of poetry and a motivation to be better in our own forms of writing. We were also able to perform during the open mic. which was soooo fun! We got a lot of positive feedback and it opened more doors to opportunities for performances... overall it was a great time. :)
